You can call it the ultimate travel destination after Taj Mahal. The amazing palace located in Mysore city in Karnataka. The Wodeyar dynasty ruled here from 1399 to 1947. The Wodeyar dynasty established by Raja (king) Wodeyar, when Vijayanagara Empire fallen.
In India Mysore is called as city of palaces, there are many palaces in Mysore but the Mysore palace is refer to the old fort. This palace is rebuilt over many times. This fort is made in 14th century. The Mysore dynasty rebuilt it with the help of British architect .the construction finished in 1912.

It’s a completely unique piece of sculpture which has a remarkable touch of Indian architecture and culture. You can see three majestic rooms, named as Ambavilsa, Gombe Thotti and Kalyana Mantapa.
Ambavilasa is the hall used by the King and the private audiences like his ministers, advisors, relatives. The hall is highly fascinated with ornament, glass, ivory. The entrance door is made of wood and ivory with a mark, which indicate lord Ganesha. The hall has a glass ceiling with columns fitted with ornaments and highly decorative materials.
Gombe Thotti is mostly known as Dolls pavilion. There is a collection of traditional dolls of early nineteenth centuries which consists of Indian and European touch. There is a doll elephant called howdah, which is 84 kg of pure gold.
In India marriage halls are called Kalyana mantapa. It is a big pavilion which is octagonal shaped and decoration is made with peacock statues and glass ceiling in geometrical pattern. The walls are decorated with oil painting of royal procession and Dasara celebration.

There are 12 Hindu temples in the surrounding of the palace. They are built by the Wodeyar dynasty. The famous temples are Someshwara temple, Lakshmi Ramana Temple etc. The all temples are dedicated to lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva.
There are many attractions. Let’s have look to Diwan e aam. It is a durbar (hall) dedicated to common people, where the king interacts with the common people. There is another hall. It is the king’s private hall, where king confer with his group of ministers. King also meets their special audience, committee members in this chamber.
You can also visit the royal armoury where the weapons are stored, which are used by the Kings. This armoury holds mainly weapon made in 14th century.
